Ohio Shakespeare Festival regards the actors, the script, and the audience as the quintessential elements of theatre.

As such, we focus our art on the story-tellers, the script, and the people who watch it above all else. We believe that each component is crucial to create what we define as “theatre.”

Ohio Shakespeare Festival is a troupe of artists presenting live, professional theatre dedicated to performing vibrant, exciting, accessible classic plays and adaptations of classic literature.  We celebrate the value and beauty of classic stories while more accurately representing the diverse people of our modern society.

We embrace a Festival atmosphere by performing in multiple cultural venues in Akron: outdoors at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and indoors at Greystone Hall.
